This modification changes the standard 30/60/90/120 aging buckets to be based on the customer’s terms. For instance, if the customer is setup on 21 day terms, the aging buckets will be 21/42/63/84.
On the Aged Trial Balance, we disable the date fields for the individual ageing dates (Past Due 1, Past Due 2, Past Due 3, and Past Due 4) and instead base those dates on the customer’s terms days. Since the days can vary from one customer to another, we cannot prompt for dates and instead just go back days based on the terms code. On the report, we label those columns Period 2 – Period 5. We also add a Days column showing exactly how many days old the invoice is.
We make the same changes to the Aged Trial Balance Report, Aged Trial Balance Interactive View, Sales Rep Aged Trial Balance Report, and Customer Detail List Report.
